Most often, collectors come to me to celebrate a moment in their life or express their love and commission a large scale abstract work. I am always honored to collaborate to create a sure-to-be cherished keepsake that will remind you every time you look at it of your love. The Commission Experience begins with a consultation where I get to learn more about your intention and we together pick a color palette, material, and size. All of my work features the highest professional grade materials and pigments which offer superior longevity and beauty for decades.

Step One

Color Palette

Color is full of life and energy. I aim for my palettes to address how you want to feel when living with the work. It is always fun to explore all possibilities of color and work together to discover what excites you. I am happy to advise and offer suggestions based on my experience with color theory, hue relationships, intensity predominance and combination to ensure a harmonious work.

Step Two

Thumbnail
Sketches

I present you with a series of thumbnail sketches to narrow down what the composition of the painting will be. In quick black and white sketches so that by eliminating color we can focus on the major shapes and elements of the work, the painting starts to come to life. It is common to merge your favorite elements of these sketches together.

Step Three

Thumbnail Painting

Color comes into play and quick color sketches are created for your review. It is important to confirm the composition decided in on in the sketches and work out how color effects the image. These images will be the essential essence of the work that will be created specifically for you.

PART FOUR

The Final
Miniature

Based on the feedback, a more detailed, miniature is created for final approval. Once approved, a formal contract is signed which outlines a legal agreement that clarifies my obligations to you, the collector, and provides an equitable schedule of payment and delivery. The miniature is a work of art in itself and is always delivered with the completed work as my gift to you.
